Jim McAlister, CPA

Jim McAlister is a consultant providing clients with an independent perspective to their organization. He has 25 years of business experience as a strategic and financial leader in organizations ranging in size from early stage start-up to Fortune 500 conglomerates. Jim has a proven track record in helping organizations grow and change, improving financial controls and optimizing shareholder value. His broad experience includes domestic and international industries in distribution, retail, real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, high tech and service.

Jim started his career as an auditor at a public accounting firm specializing in governmental compliance audits. His corporate background includes both public and private, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies where he held such positions as CFO/Controller and Corporate Secretary/Treasurer.

As a financial consultant, Jim has assisted in the preparation of business plans, development of strategy, performed planning and due diligence on acquisitions, handled divestitures and mentored/trained staff. He has established budgeting and planning process, plus a methodology and the metrics for assessing profitability.

As an SEC compliance consultant, Jim has assisted pre and post IPO registrants in establishing proper public company reporting practices. He has introduced financial controls and procedures for organizations to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Jim has assisted in the planning and completion of SOX 404 engagements for small to mid-size filers.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Iowa and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas. Mr. McAlister is active in Dallas area non-profit professional and fine arts boards, serving as Treasurer for the D/FW SEC Reporting Group and The Repertory Company Theatre. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the XBRL.org.

Joe Mathews, BBA,

Joe Mathews has been in the accounting and finance arena his entire career of more than twenty years.  Mr. Mathews began as an auditor, with his focus on financial institutions.  He was then Controller at two privately-held companies.  After nine years with a large financial services company - first as a consultant, then in business development – he formed Mathews, Demaret and Associates in 1998, a firm focused on CFO consulting services.

Mr. Mathews also partnered with a regional public accounting firm, handling their business development, recruiting, and Sarbanes-Oxley initiative.  He was most recently with a national financial consulting company, with a focus on Sarbanes-Oxley and other financial consulting services.

Mr. Mathews earned his BBA degree from Stephen F. Austin University and passed the CPA examination in 1994.  He has a 16 year-old daughter who attends Booker T. Washington School for the Performing Arts.  Joe is very involved in various business and civic organizations, and has served on the boards of numerous organizations.  In 1999, Joe was selected by Rick Perry, Lieutenant Governor of Texas, to serve as a founding member of the Texas Small Business Advisory Council.

Tommy Moore, BBA, CISSP, CISA

Tommy Moore is the owner and President of Secure Network Services, LLC, a technology-consulting firm specializing in information security and compliance. A published writer and speaker, Tommy is well known throughout the information security industry and has helped several Fortune 500 companies protect their networks from fraud, theft, and disruption.

Tommy has 15 years of IT experience, starting out as a Systems Administrator for a software company to serving as Director of Information Technology for a national government-consulting agency and as Manger of Network Security for the popular sports cable channel ESPN. Living in New York and Connecticut, Tommy was responsible for ensuring the integrity and availability of the networks and coordinated network security for all national and international television sporting events for ESPN. Tommy also served as a subject matter expert in his field for Lucent Technologies and IBM working as a lead consultant.

Working as an information systems auditor, Tommy has helped his clients achieve Sarbanes-Oxley compliance though information systems audit, control, and security practices. He has worked to support the implementation of, and encourage compliance with, appropriate standards, procedures, and controls for information systems. Tommy also has specific experience with SOX in healthcare and municipal environments.

Tommy is a graduate from the University of North Texas where he received his BBA in Finance and holds many professional certifications, including CISSP and CISA. Mr. Moore also serves as a Vice President for a Dallas-based charity organization.


Susan Stamey, BBA

Susan Stamey is a consultant providing a wide range of services to clients. She has 19 years of business experience as an accounting professional in a variety of industries. Susan has a solid record in assisting companies in business strategic planning, accounting and finance, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Susan's experience in accounting and finance includes the healthcare and manufacturing industries and as an owner of a consulting firm. Recently, Susan has leveraged her talents in all areas of Sarbanes-Oxley including the development of a customizable Sarbanes-Oxley IT tool in the areas of general and application controls. Other consulting engagements have included assisting clients in monthly accounting and financial functions, regulatory compliance, and long term strategic planning.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Stamey also operates a successful e-commerce business in addition to being a financial consultant. Her e-commerce business, which launched in 2004, has grown rapidly and has exceeded her business plan.


John Hoffman, CPA, CTP, MBA

John Hoffman is a consultant providing clients with a broad perspective on their businesses based on thirty years of experience ranging from Corporate Audit Staffs of the Fortune 100 to Corporate Financial leadership for mid-size public and private companies. John has a proven track record in change management utilizing state of the art ERP software applications to improve financial processes and controls and optimize shareholder value. His extensive experience includes domestic and international based organizations with manufacturing and distribution businesses spanning industries from high tech to low tech. Some of these include; telecommunications, communications, auto, insurance, consumer products and steel.

John started his career as an internal auditor with a Fortune 100 conglomerate providing a diverse range of products to the auto and other industries. He has held various management and director level positions in accounting and treasury.

As a financial consultant, John has assisted in implementation and training for Oracle financial applications and in the re-engineering of a Treasury organization utilizing Best Practices and including evaluation and selection of new banking relationships.

As an SEC compliance consultant, John has assisted in all phases of SOX 404 compliance from planning through documentation, testing and remediation for mid-size and large, accelerated and regular filers, with emphasis on IT Applications and the business processes surrounding them.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University with graduate studies in Marketing and International Business at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Business. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Indiana and is also a Certified Treasury Professional. He is an active Board member and past Treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County and is also an active member of various professional organizations including: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, D/FW SEC Reporting Group, Association of Financial Professionals and Institute of Management Accountants.


Bill Parker, BS, MBA

Bill Parker is a consultant providing clients with human resources and business process improvement to organizations. He has 20 years of business experience in Human Resources working at companies such as Texas Instruments and Fujitsu as a Director level Leader. Bill's leadership has come from his experience in the US Air Force as a Fighter Pilot and Instructor. Bill has a proven track record in helping organizations grow and change by improving their processes in turn improving shareholder value.

Randy Shields, BS, CPA

Randy Shields is a consultant offering a broad range of experience at the strategic and tactical levels. He has 25 years of experience with the majority of it being at the CFO and Controller level. Randy is well regarded for his innate ability to tackle difficult circumstances and deliver results - on time and accurately.

Since late 2003, Randy has consulted on various Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 (SOX.404) implementation projects. He has become a specialist in assisting clients successfully complete projects in under-the-gun situations, typically when they have that found themselves significantly pressed against their compliance deadline, that resulting from starting late or having "false" starts.

Randy's efforts have proven greatly successful, resulting in the completed SOX.404 documentation being delivered to meet these deadlines and requirements. All companies - to date - have been accelerated filers, ranging from $200+ million through $4+ billion in revenues.

Industry coverage in SOX.404 activities has included manufacturing, metals recycling, commodities trading, construction related services, software development & marketing, and multi-location auto dealerships with "buy here, pay here" financing, international (UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico), and defense contracting.

Beyond the SOX.404 consulting, Randy has provided other consulting services, which includes SEC and Tax reporting, business valuations, pro-forma analysis.
