Jay Roy, CMA, MBA

Mr. Roy enjoys teaching his expertise in a variety subjects including, SEC compliance, Sarbanes-Oxley, and fraud. He has taught on behalf of the Professional Development Institute, (P.D.I.) for the University of North Texas. In addition to teaching in these areas, he has a great depth of experience in SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. In Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, he has been involved with ten SOX projects in various capacities including the project management, documentation and the IT aspects of IT general controls and IT application controls.

Mr. Roy has written articles for the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario in their widely circulated magazine, Management Magazine and has been written about in the Dallas Morning News and Dallas Business Journal.


Mike Morley, CPA, CCE, MBA

Mr. Morley is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Credit Examiner who holds the top credit designations in Canada, the US, and the UK. He is a recognized authority in the field of credit and has more than 25 years experience in both consumer and commercial credit and collections.

Mr. Morley is a regular speaker and instructor at accounting and credit conferences and seminars. He has consulted with a variety of organizations to enhance their financial and credit processes. Recently, Mr. Morley was an instructor at the CMA Ontario Summer Conference in Toronto, Canada speaking on Sarbanes-Oxley topics. Mr. Morley earned a BS in accounting from University of Ottawa, Canada and an MBA from Southwest University.

Mr. Morley is the author of 2 books:

Credit & Credit Repair for Canadians, which explains how the Canadian Credit industry works and shows consumers and small business owners can improve their creditworthiness.

Sarbanes-Oxley Simplified, is an easy-to-read explanation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and its requirements. This book is geared to financial and non-financial managers not familiar with the US legislation.


A. Wayne Avellanet, CMA, MBA,

Mr. A. Wayne Avellanet, CMA, MBA, has become the industry's leading authority for Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Control Compliance. He possesses over twenty-five years of broad business experience improving operational and financial performance at publicly held multinational companies. His broad-based background includes the traditional accounting, finance, audit, internal control, SEC reporting, treasury and tax responsibilities. He is also experienced with diverse business operations, strategic business planning, financial modeling and cash flow forecasting, IPOs, public debt offerings, IT, human resources and risk management.

Mr. Avellanet is a regular speaker and instructor at accounting and Sarbanes-Oxley conferences and seminars. He has consulted with a variety of organizations to enhance their financial and internal control processes. Mr. Avellanet earned a BS in accounting from University of X, and an MBA from X University.

Mr. Avellanet has worked for major firms including EDS, Praxair, Baker-Hughes Int'l, Harris and Pier 1 and is currently directing the internal control function for a large international corporation doing in excess of $1 billion in sales annually. He has also taught college courses as an adjunct faculty member.


James Saikin, BA, JD

James Saikin is a consultant with over 25 years of business management experience in operations, at the strategic level, with extensive knowledge small to medium enterprises in the 100 million to 2 billion dollar range. James has a proven track record in advising client organizations, developing strategies, decreasing time to money and improving business efficiencies. His experience includes both domestic and international companies in the manufacturing, technology, semiconductor, government and petrochemical industries.

James started his career in the oil fields of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, working as a well service engineer for Schlumberger. His corporate background includes stints at Texas Instruments, Mostek and Oerlikon-Buehler, to name a few. He has worked with Exxon, Texaco, Shell, Amoco and Temple Eastex as well as Motorola, AMD, IBM and AT&T. He ahs worked with both public and private companies, from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations, where he held such roles as CIO, CTO, COO, and CEO.

As an advisor to start-ups, James has created business plans, marketing plans and product description analyses matching new products to specified market segments, and strategic mapping as well as process mapping. He has created a unique analytical method for government agencies relying upon the Zackman protocols, advanced process mapping and performance metrics reporting for analyzing and verifying risk issues during development of strategic initiatives and implementation of new processes.

As a technologist, James has assessed security risks to network infrastructure and developed objectives for COBIT compliance during a 409 review under SOX II. He has assisted in SAS-70 audits, developing contracts databases, reviewing government technology and IT contracts. As risk advisor, he has mentored CEO and CFOs on Intellectual Property Issues during bankruptcy proceedings, managed manufacturing issues under both Chapter 7 Liquidation and Chapter 11 Re-organization, conducted termination and partial terminations of 401 K plans and restructured insurance and service level agreements by exercising the economic hardship clauses.

James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Texas A & M - Commerce and a Juris Doctorate in Law from Oklahoma City University-Oklahoma City. James Saikin is active in Dallas area non-profit professional and fine Arts boards, serving as Executive Committee Member for the Navy League of Dallas, Board Member of the Information Systems Research Center, Advisory Board Member of the College of Business Administration of University of North Texas (UNT), and the Marketing & Logistics Advisory Board of UNT, and he also serves as Friend of the Eisemann Center.
